Say Something Nice

Improv Everywhere calls itself a “Prank Collective”. What is that? I don’t know. Apparently a bunch of people created some kind of group that enjoys causing the “chaos and joy” around NYC. Please understand chaos as some kind of challenge of the social norms, or the so called “normal life”. It’s not like beating people or stealing.

Anyway, their last mission was to construct a wooden lectern with a megaphone holster and a sign where you could read “say something nice”. This was placed around New York and then left alone.

See people’s reactions and messages in the video, it’s pretty cool! Go check their website for more infos and more funny “missions”. These guys are damn cool!

BTW this project was produced as a part of the Guggenheim Museum exhibition stillspotting nyc.

This kid had a really deep message: “To infinity and beyond!”

This ad is great! It’s shocking but it’s a must see!

I found it truly effective, I really felt like donating something to protect kids and join the fight. I swear that if I wasn’t poor as shit, I would totally send them money – I was absolutely led by his commercial. This is a serious issue!

It’s not easy to see, but it’s worthy! It’s astonishingly touching, well developed; it makes you close your eyes and  gives you chills all over your body but, above all, it makes you think about this particular situation. And the kid is an awesome actor!

Great job Ogilvy Dublin!

How To Be Stupid at Work

I know you’re aware that there are a lot of ways of being stupid at work… But you won’t find a cooler way than this one!

As usual, my creative friend DIESEL  had the best idea ever: To make Facebook look like an Excel spreadsheet. Now you can keep from being an asshole at work, to start being a freaking smart asshole (or stupid or whatever)!!!

You are now able to trick your boss into thinking that you’re such an example as a professional and that you’re totally not that mothafuckin’ procrastinator, who spends its time joining useless groups on Facebook, liking hot guys/girls photos, stalking your ex or posting bad things about your work or boss on your wall. He’s so gonna bite it!

Facebook will look like this – boring as shit! Just the way your boss likes it!

First Ad Written on Hair

“It takes extreme precision to work at this size. ProGlide Gillette finest blades.”

“Our Best work is viewed up close. ProGlide Gillette finest blades.”

Gillette, BBDO (ad agency) and a group of scientists, from University of Nottingham, actually ripped off some strands of hair of an innocent man and wrote an ad on it, like they’re the kings of the world or something.

The ads measure less than 1/10 millimeter and it’s currently pending record-breaking status at Guinness World Records.

This campaign main objective (besides creating an enormous buzz everywhere and being on Guinness) is to emphasize the precision of their new ProGlide razor.

In addition, Gillette placed the carved hairs in men’s airport restrooms with a scannable QR code. Once scanned, guys could see this video and what was written on that hair.

How cool and disgusting is this? Can you imagine a guy going to the restroom at some airport, looking at filthy beard hair on the sink and getting really excited about that? Something like: “wow, some guy’s hair on the sink with QR code, totally not creepy and unusual. I definitely have to scan this thing; it may be a prize on it!!”. WTF Gillette?!?

Anyway, I really like their idea of writing on hair. It’s very creative and a great way to create buzz around the new product. Period!

Diesel | ‘Like’ Campaign

As usual Diesel innovated again in its new campaign. The concept is bringing the ‘Like’ button to real life – “If we love to tell people what we ‘Like’, why not doing it in real life?”

The project started in Madrid and allows people to ‘like’ products in Diesel stores while sharing it on Facebook.

How? All the clothes display a QR Code that can be scanned by customers. By scanning the codes, shoppers can also see similar products and ‘like’ it on Facebook.

This is not just an entertaining campaign, but also really smart. It allows people to find items that wouldn’t probably be found online and it also lets fashionistas share their style online.

Oh Diesel… You rock!

ADS | Green Creativity

It looks an alien inside job, but it’s not! Mini just opted for a greener ad, literally!

Mini “From town to country and back again.”

When a printed paper ad is transformed into… nothing, that’s ecological, right? Clean ads are what we need!

I present you Rain-campaign. What is that? Basically, the ad is only seen when it rains or if anyone sprays it with water. Is obviously Eco-friendly as it avoids the use of paper or any other resources that affect the environment negatively!

And also cool concept is Sand Advertising. These 2 campaigns are both developed by Fresh Green Ads’ smart guys!

Conceptual campaign where balloons were put on cars, to show what Co2 does to the earth.

Reutilization at the highest level – Rona tried to highlight the company’s paint recuperation program, the billboard was placed under an Apple Nanochromatic placement and the slogan was “We collect leftover paint”. SO SMART!

Another cool one by Denver Water

Tropicana recently created a light billboard that was only powered by Nature. Well… to be more accurate, it was powered by oranges!

June 5th was established by the United Nations General Assembly  as the World Environment Day! But I can’t wait that longer, so I decided to establish

April 27th as the Fash&Mark Environment Day!

During Fash&Mark Environment Day I’ll post about different things related to environment and green attitude!

*What  you will  find on Fash&Mark on April 27th:

  • Green and sustainable Fashion
  • Green Products – Products that are going to revolutionize the world as we know it
  • Brands and campaigns, which main objective is to change minds and lifestyles to a more sustainable living
  • Cool Ads related to Environment

*What you won’t find on Fash&Mark during that day:

  • Boring stuff
  • Uninteresting Blablas
  • Policies and rules that are dull as shit

This is still Fash&Mark as you know it! So You’ll only read about new and funny things, like products and fashionable items, cool ads and creative campaigns.

Why did I remember to do this?

The world is stagnated and you don’t need me to tell you that, everybody is aware of it! There’s only one species that can change that: HUMAN BEINGS! And that’s us, people!

It’s in our hands to change Earth and make it a better place.Who’s up to it?

Homes Into Billboards & Paid Mortgage

I just love this idea!

Would you like someone to pay your mortgage? Who wouldn’t?!?

Well, a mobile ad company called Adzookie decided to turn houses into huge billboards and in exchange the company will pay your mortgage! Isn’t this awesome?

We already allow ads in our phones, on our social media profiles and on our cars, why not our house, if it pays off?

These are the requirements:

  • You must be the house owner, the house cannot be rented or leased (or your landlord could have a heart attack)
  • Your house must remain painted for at least 3 months, extendable to 1 year
  • Adzookie will paint your entire house but the roof, windows or any awnings
  • If, after 3 months, you decided to cancel the contract, Adzookie will repaint your house back to the original colors
  • The painting will take between 3 and 5 days

Are you up to it??

I guess this is only possible in America, but if you were eligible to have your house painted with strong colors, with the Facebook, Youtube and Twitter’s logos on it and have your mortgage paid every month, plus 1000$ credit to use in mobile advertising (if you own a website), WOULD YOU LET ADZOOKIE PAINT YOUR HOUSE?

I would definitely let them paint it all! Then I could save lots of money for my well-deserved vacations!!! HELL YEAH BIATCHES!

One City, One Perfume

The Scent of Departure is a new brand of perfumes available only on duty-free shops.

Basically the brand was able to capture the scent of five cities: Frankfurt, Budapest, Vienna, Istanbul e Munich. Every bottle of perfume costs 29€ and they’re only available in those five cities’ airports.

Blabla of the brand:

“Who hasn’t dreamt of capturing the scents of a trip and bringing them back home? (me)

The Scent of Departure fragrances capture the essence and spirit of the world’s most vibrant cities in an olfactory memento. (most vibrant cities? Don’t think so)

Voyage from one city to another, fragrance by fragrance.” (And “voyage” by plain too. Or else you won’t get one of these)


The concept was… well kinda cool! But all I can think is: Marketing, marketing, marketing, money and marketing! They will never be able to “capture the essence” of a city! Will NY smell like hotdogs? Will Mexico City smell like Tacos and chilli? Will Paris smell bad? :p

However, maybe this is a better gift than the ugly teddy bears and key chains (I like the mugs!) with the name of the city (cheesy!).

This is just my opinion, but I want to know yours. Would you buy this? Do you like the idea?

Now, let’s talk about what really matters. The shoes are really beautiful, they look great; they make us beg for summer, BUT are they really comfy as they say?

Cause what I can guess is that some of them are waterproof (duh) and perfect to take to the beach, because they won’t get dirty and all that.  But I can’t imagine walking with some of them… Aren’t they going to suffocate my feet? It’s plastic!!

Anyway, I really like them and all the philosophy behind it (yes… now that’s starting to matter to people). I would like to know your experience about it… this might be my next “investment” for summer :p

UPDATE!!!

Well this was an interesting turnaround! This post was about fashion and summer shoes, but in the meanwhile in the comments, the discussion was mainly about ecology! So the question was: How can PVC be eco-friendly?!

Actually that didn’t even crossed my mind, but it’s an interesting question. So I decided to search a little about MELISSA VS ECO-FRIENDLY philosophy.

Here it is was I found:

Eco Citizen: “Melissa’s Shoes are fairtrade and made with nearly zero waste in production. They are also 100% recyclable and made from a specially patented meflex plastic and a non-toxic and breathable PVC.”

Lucky Mag: “The materials now used in the production of their (Melissa’s) shoes are made from 30% recycled PVC, and a portion of sales is donated to the World Vision of Recife.”

Being 100% recyclable you can put them on a recycling bin when you feel like they’re not good enough for you anymore!

AD | AUDI release the hounds

AUDI did this great commercial for Super Bowl.

It’s a clever and funny ad about the getaway from a luxury prison.

In the meantime, they also call MERCEDES “Your dad’s car”, trying to say that MERCEDES can be a luxury car , but it’s just for old people! (kinda true)

Agent Provocateur’s campaigns for its  A/W 2010 and S/S 2011 collection are almost too sexy for this blog.

The name of this well known lingerie brand says it all and its campaigns really push up the limits.

Besides the photos, they made several videos with the models where they striptease in front of  a camera. The videos are edited to look amateur, despite looking really cool.

The outfits are beautiful and the photos are sassy and daring.

Lynx | How to use Augmented Reality

You have to see this video! This is a great example on how to use Augmented Reality.

Lynx (Axe), a brand that promises guys lots of girls, made an awesome street campaign in Victoria train station in London.

This campaign allowed the brand to interact with the public live and to create buzz.

“Once people stepped inside the special Lynx Excite box, each of the Lynx Angels would fly down and greet them – and it was all captured live on the huge screen on the station concourse.” Lynx Excite

With this, Lynx was trying to prove its theory that if you use Lynx Excite even angels fall for you. But instead of a simple boring ad on TV, they met people where they less expected and, at the same time, they entertained everyone around.

Benetton Spring/Summer campaign lives up to it’s essence: Colors.

The pics are just so full of colors and energy that they bring life to billboards on the streets. It makes us beg for summer to come really fast. I had to share it!
