Attention Boys & Girls

27 Nov

A new creative underwear brand was born! You know how I love new and crazy concepts, right?

“Less underwear conversation and a little bit more action”

Jac5 is a super luxury’s men brand with a fun vision that was released on 11-11-11, so it already promised to be special. It is an underwear brand for men with comfortable and stylish undies (Armani, Diesel and Calvin Klein are competitors, so you know what I’m talking about!).

Why is Jac5 so cool?

Well, the brand identity was driven by… a dog, to be accurate, a Jack Russel Terrier: loyal, smart and, at times, barking mad. Surprised? (I find specially interesting the “barking mad” characteristic in underwear… I wonder what they mean with that… is that kinky?)

I love the way they defined their brand mission with a witty remark – “to create the best undies for man’s best friend” – got the pun?

Stores

Of course Jac5 store offers a truly unique retail experience! Besides buying underwear, which at times is already quite adventurous, you also can enjoy some art. Yes, there is an art gallery inside the store that supports up and coming artists through it “art and undies” program!

I wish I could go there (Hong Kong)… To have an idea how the experience might be, just look at this pic

Despite all this cool stuff, the brand creator is also pretty smart, cause he knows what this business is about :p

“We´re not just about men, it’s important to us that women also enjoy what we have to offer (after all, they are the primary influence in what men wear!)”

This is Art | RGB by Carnovsky

“RGB is a work about the exploration of the ‘surface’s deepness’ “

We’ve seen a lot in Modern Art lately. I must admit that I’m not quite a big fan of that! Last week I was at Centre Pompidou in Paris and there were some pieces that I was like “Really people? Really? Is this why you’re visiting a museum?”.

You can say I don’t understand art at all, but please people – this isn’t art! A shelf with personal stuff on it? Seriously? If this is art, Tumblr is the king of Modern Art!

But on the other hand I found a great example of modern art that will astonish you.

It’s amazing how the artists play with colors, light and your brain!

They overlap three different images, each one in a primary color, which result in a confusing and disorienting image and color mix. Then they light up a colored filter and you can clearly see the image according to the color of the layer. (It’s easier to see than to explain!)

“RGB designs create surfaces that mutate and interact with different chromatic stimulus.”

These are 4 photos of the same image. (click to enlarge – it would be much better)

And more…

Art, Fashion and Environment

27 Apr

On April 21st 2011 was the first anniversary of the BP environmental disaster and some artists infiltrated the Tate Britain Museam to protest! Apparently BP is a big sponsor of the institution and the artists want this partnership to end. So they covered a naked man in oil-like liquid on the classical sculpture exhibit room

Christine Esposito creates cool pieces with soda cans. Check her website for other products

Ana Yago and journalist Jose Antonio Gimenez have a design studio – Sanserif Creatius – where they create beautiful cardboard furniture. It’s ecological and pretty stylish.

Polish Designer Karina Marusinska creates jewelry with industrial waste. Sounds difficult? When I saw the photo of the pile of garbage I was shocked!!! So many things there! I’m glad someone decided to use it wisely…

Zoe Bradley is an awesome artist. He creates astonishing things with paper and he even worked for McQueen!

Love this idea! Art + Toys + Recycling

Christian Louboutin messed with garbage?! You have to see it to believe it!

Paco Peregrín | THE Photographer

30 Mar

Yesterday I found out that I have a favorite photographer! I didn’t even imagine that I could have that!

By chance I found on some Facebook page an astonishing photo with his name on it. I went to his website and…WOW!

Paco Peregrín is such a talented and versatile photographer.  The pics are great! Strong poses, magnificent colors… Everything comes together in such a powerful way! It’s like you can feel the photos!

For your information, I was so overwhelmed that I actually made a fool of myself and send an email to Paco, just to say he was awesome! And you won’t believe this: he answered back, 1min after I sent it! How cool is that? I thought he was really nice, I wasn’t expecting an answer AT ALL! So… Just for that, he has one extra point! =)

Now, no more blabla’s. Just see the photos! It was so difficult to choose which ones to post here. Don’t miss the other ones – check his websites (below)

(Sorry about the slideshow thing. I had too many photos to show)

What do you think? Hate, like or LOVE?
