1º Aniversary | Fash&Mark

3 Mar

Sometimes this is a fashion blog

Sometimes this in an anti-fashion blog, against silly empty girls

Sometimes this is a Marketing blog

Sometimes this blog hates marketing’s deceiving campaigns

Sometimes this is an activist blog

Sometimes this is an humanitarian blog just about social causes

Sometimes this is just a blog with cute images

Sometimes this is a blog with meaningful quotes

Sometimes this is an ecological blog

At times it is even a sponsored blog

But every single time it’s a reflection of me!

Happy Birthday Fash&Mark! :)

Thank you!

Thanks to the ones who follow, the ones who read, the ones who just want cute images, the ones who sponsor, the ones who like and dislike when the subject touches their hearts or goes against their beliefs. Also thanks to the ones who are trying to shut down Fash&Mark asking to “cease and desist”.

25 Feb

Have you ever wonder if you could be self-sufficient by living off the land?
Do ever wanted to cut on the supermarket bill? Or to be sure your food doesn’t have a million toxic ingredients on it? Are you tired of paying the energy bill that raises every year?

Well, this graph is going to explain you, what you need to accomplish that secret dream.

Le Modern Baroque!

24 Feb

You know what I love? Baroque style! It’s something that I really admire since I was little and I saw those voluptuous dresses on some movie, for the first time! Those extravagant hair styles, the glamorous patterns and textures, those dresses’ curved shapes and, of course, the exuberant make-up! All the details made my eyes shine of amazement! Well… I guess it still does.

I collected some products that were inspired by ‘Le Baroque’ style! Oh! Oui mademoiselle! J’adore!

NYC | The City

11 Feb

I won’t say anything about these pics… just see for yourself!

Ok… maybe 1 thing that defines Manhattan and can’t be on photos: the smell! There are so many fragrances in the air. I don’t think I will be able to put it on words, but I’ll try: it’s a mix of hot dogs, popcorn, perfume, people, cars, fruit… It’s really bizarre, since I’ve never felt anything like that before.

When I went to visit Brooklyn and New Jersey it was completely different, it was like you could ‘smell’ the difference. I felt that something was missing, I felt I was no longer in New York, because Manhattan has this characteristic smell and frenzy of people, which makes you feel like you are really in the desert, when you visit other places in New York.

NYC | Fashion

6 Feb

These are pictures of last year’s fashion shop windows, but as you can see everything is still so trendy!

I was not allowed to take photos at Alexander McQueen Savage beauty exhibition, which was really sad but comprehensible. Believe me it was amazing to be so close to those pieces of art.

NYC | People

31 Jan

I came back with the best of impressions about New Yorkers! They are really nice, helpful and ready to chat!
It was unbelievable how many times people started conversations on the streets, bars, but specially cafes and restaurants! Usually they asked to seat on my table and started talking and talking and talking! It was so fun! And I was there listening and chatting with a complete stranger with the biggest poker face ever, wondering “Is this normal here or am I just on a lucky strike!”
Check out some photos I took to some cool people in NYC :) (compressed or else it would take ages to upload)

NYC Music

31 Jan

You know that song that is always playing during your vacations? Well, I had that on NYC too. There are 3 songs that remind me of this trip!

1º Edge of Glory | Lady Gaga

The first song that I heard in NYC in Gaga’s concert

2º Rolling in the Deep | Adele

Always playing in every store I entered, was the hit during that 2 weeks and the radio stations loved it!

3º Firework | Katy Perry

I dedicate this one to my friend that was an amazing host! He knows why! LOL. While walking around in NY, we kept singing this song, it gets stuck in your head somehow… :)

New York Trip!

26 Jan

If you follow this blog for some time, you might remember that back in June (my birthday) I offered myself a promising trip to New York. Back then, I promised that I would post photos about it and would show you how cool NYC is!

The thing is… I was borrowed a fancy-pretty cool-expensive camera from a guy who lived there. While in NYC, I used and abused the camera and the amazing quality of the pics! You can imagine how many photos I took and, judging by the camera, you might have an idea on how heavy the file with the pics was… So, I didn’t bring the photos with me, unfortunately. Therefore I had to wait till now, to get them back! (True story, bad logistics and way too many Gb’s…)

Finally I’m able to talk a bit about New York City (supported by images) and to show you some photos of the city, the people and the fashion trends.

Once Upon a time in NYC

After a long flight, some boring movies and a stupid annoying cop at the airport, I started my adventure in the city that never sleeps. Of course I had to begin by riding trains and a thousand subways, asking directions and walking through crowded streets to finally get home! But I didn’t even care! I was thrilled about stepping on that city’s floor at last… Since childhood I always wanted to visit America.

I stayed at a friend’s house in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. My first meal was an enormous slice of pizza and a giant coke, and then I headed to a characteristic bar named Rudy’s – pretty cool for a first AMERICAN impression!

On the next day, I woke up pretty early, went to central Park for a walk and guess who was there! Lady Gaga! Good Morning America (GMA) organized a free Lady Gaga concert that day. I don’t need to say that it was fucking crowded, right?

There were 12 incredible days! I went to some rooftop parties, to Sunday concerts in Brooklyn, to 6 Flags in New Jersey, I went to MET and saw Alexander McQueen exhibition (never thought I would be so close to his fashion pieces of art). I ate a lot of junk food and delighted myself every morning with an exquisite iced coffee from a 24/7 store. And for me, that was the magic of NYC!

I will have several posts about my trip to New York City. I will not bore you with extensive writing; it’s just a way to separate photos about different subjects: the city, the people, and the style!

Hope you enjoy!

Social Keds

25 Jan

It looks like today it’s all about the Internet and Social Media! We can’t pass one day without searching something on Google, learn a bit on Wikipedia, writing on some blog or going social on Facebook, Twitter and its fellow wannabes…

All this plays an important role in our lives today, and despite our denial, you know it’s true! Come on… We all saw the protests against SOPA and PIPA some days ago, when the government decided it wanted to censor our beloved Internet!

Taking advantage of all this love and addiction Keds asked itself: if people love internet so much, wouldn’t they like it feature in their shoes?

And then… Internet just landed on your feet!

I think they should have one with all the TUMBLR rage faces… Just sayin’

Did you study abroad or consider doing so? If you did, you know that you feel like taking everything with you. We never know how the weather will be, the fashion trends up there, who we gonna meet or even where we gonna go… So we want to take everything we have, just in case Prince Charming decides to appear and we have a prom-like dress to look like a his princess.

Of course I am exaggerating as usual, but I believe everyone has crazy thoughts like that when going abroad for a long period…

When I found this new Suitcase, I was thrilled! Finally a clever and useful idea for travelers –  a Vacuum Packed Suitcase.

While other brands are investing in suitcases with an expandable hood to accommodate more clothes, PUMPACK includes a pump that helps to compress clothes to make more packing room.

  • No more seating on top of your suitcase to close it
  • No more “Shit I can’t take this, cause it doesn’t fit”
  • No more wearing all the clothes you can, and looking like a snowman at the airport, because you can put them in your bag
  • No more paying for extra luggage! YEY!!

Pumpack is a 2011 red dot design concept winner.
